Graves at St Giles

From the darkness of the 19th Century we plunge into a computer aided high tech world by putting the words and pictures of these old graves onto a web based database.

Click on a bullet points below to find out what each navigation button on the left will do:-
  • Area Maps
    • Select an area map that allows you to click on a small area of the Churchyard to view a collection of graves, then by clicking on an individual grave the full details and pictures for that grave will be made available.
  • Plot Map
    • Display a plot map that show the position and number of every grave in the Churchyard.  The relevant full details are available when the required plot number is entered.
  • Surnames
    • View a list of all the surnames in alphabetical order and then drill down to see the details of people with the same surname.
  • Timeline
    • View a list of all the people whose death is recorded in the same order that they died.  Click on a person to drill down to see their burial details.
  • Search
    • Search for grave details by entering any combination of first name, surname, age at death and date of death.
  • Statistics
    • View the fascinating statistics of people that have died and been buried in Holme Church.
  • Amazing
    • Sometimes a photograph comes out that you think is truly amazing - here is one those.
  • Email
    • Finally, help us to keep the details up to date.  Tell us when we have got the data wrong and we will correct it.  Can you fill in any missing gaps?  Help us help you! 
Many thanks are due to ---- for all the hard work done back in 1979 in compiling the inscription list.  Ken Alvey transferred this list in 1999/2000 onto the database, added the pictures and made it all available via the internet.
